Tree Planted in Memory of Melvyne Crow

After the two openings, Sarah Crow with her family and friends completed the planting of an English Elm tree, grown on from the stock that Melvyne and Paul King found to be resistant to Dutch Elm Disease that had wiped out the species since 1967. All agreed that it was a perfect memorial in the Gardens he had done so much to preserve and improve. After the planting Paul King, who donated the tree, spoke very movingly about Melvyne and all he had done to improve the landscape of North Essex. Read more about Melvyne Crow
